    Abstract:

Oxygen consumption rate and suffocation point of Barbus capito with different temperature and body weights were measured. The oxygen consumption rate and suffocation point of 1year and 2years Barbus capito increase respectively as water temperature go up under a range of 16-34 ℃. It is demonstrate that oxygen consumption is moving up and oxygen consumption rate is dropping down gradually as body weight under a range of 10-180 g at 26 ℃. The average oxygen consumption rate of 1year fish in the day is significantly higher than that at night. The highest value appears between 12:00 and 14:00 on an average of (0.195 8±0.037) mg/(g·h), the lowest one appears between 22:00 and 24:00 on an average of (0.145 9±0.029) mg/(g·h). The suffocation point are respective 0.180 5-0.525 2 mg/L and 0.292 1-0.588 8 mg/L for 1year fish and 2years fish under a range of 26-32 ℃.
